Manuel Montero

Armed with ample pace and power, the 6’4”, 240-pound wing joins the club after assembling an impressive professional and international career resume to date. Following selection for the Argentina under-20s in 2010, Montero made his full debut for Los Pumas in 2012, going on to earn 27 caps (22 starts) and score 16 tries throughout the decade. The speedy Argentine has also spent time with his nation’s sevens program, featuring in three World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments in the 2011-2012 season.

A member of the original Jaguares, Montero made seven appearances for Argentina’s Super Rugby side. La Pantera also appeared in 45 URBA Top 14 / Top 12 matches over multiple spells with Pucara between 2010 and 2019, scoring 29 tries over the decade. The 28-year-old most recently plied his trade with Paraguay’s Olimpia Lions in the Super Liga Americana, featuring in one match before the South American league was cut short due to the pandemic.

Montero is the fourth Argentine to sign with the club for the 2021 season, joining countrymen Tomas de la Vega, Gaston Cortes, and Juan Cruz Gonzalez.
