Salmon, 25, joins the Arrows from New Zealand National Provincial Championship side Tasman Mako, where the prop made 35 appearances over five seasons for the Nelson-based club.
The 5’11″, 255lb tighthead prop first joined the Mako in 2017, picking up six caps as a mid-season injury replacement in his debut campaign. He signed a contract with Super Rugby’s Blues in 2018, but injury prevented him taking the field in the southern hemisphere’s top competition.
After returning to make four appearances for the provincial side in 2018, Salmon proceeded to help guide Tasman to three consecutive NPC Premiership Final berths between 2019 and 2021. The forward played 11 matches in 2019 and a further nine games in 2020 for the back-to-back Premiership champions, and featured in an additional six games this past year in a season that saw the Mako finish as Premiership runners-up.
