ONTARIO ARROWS NAME TRAINING SQUAD FOR GLENDALE RAPTORS BATTLE
Ontario Arrows head coach Chris Silverthorn has named his long list training squad ahead of his side’s upcoming home clash with MLR Championship finalists Glendale Raptors at York Lions Stadium (Sept. 16, 2018 / 1PM kick-off / Tickets Available).
The Arrows have retained the bulk of the Ontario Blues squad that won the MacTier Cup two weeks ago in Calgary, marking the provincial side’s sixth Canadian Rugby Championship in the last eight seasons.
Valuable talent from outside the Blues program has also been drafted into an Arrows side eager to step up to the MLR challenge. Prop Cole Keith is set to make his Arrows debut after anchoring the Atlantic Rock scrum in the CRC, while outhalf/fullback Pat Parfrey returns to the Arrows lineup for the first time in 2018. Belleville native Matt Mullins pulls on an Ontario senior fifteens shirt for the first time in five years in the back row.
“Glendale went 7-1 in their first MLR season and we know how fast and physical they are,” said Silverthorn. “We are going to put in a big training week, and we’ll be up to the task. We’re aiming to put on a show for our fans on the 16th.”
The upcoming match will be played at York Lions Stadium at York University, and will kick off at 1 p.m. EDT. Tickets are available online for $25, as well as at the gate on matchday for $30. Youth (12 and under) can enjoy free admission.
