
Toronto Arrows Announce Trio of Returnees for 2020

TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce a fourth group of significant signings ahead of the 2020 Major League Rugby season.
The following players have re-signed with the club:
Sam Malcolm
Hometown: Wanganui, NZ
Position: Fly-half / Fullback
Age: 24
- Named to 2019 All-MLR 2nd XV Team
- Made 16 appearances (1,200 minutes)
- Scored 152 points (ranked third in MLR)
- Successfully kicked 46 conversions, 19 penalty goals, and one drop goal
- Successfully kicked 82.9% attempts at goal (ranked third in MLR)
- Completed 181 tackles (ranked fourth on team)
- Earned a 89.2% tackle completion rate
- Completed 69 kicks (2,594 kicking metres)
Jack McRogers
Hometown: Newmarket, Ont.
Position: Hooker
Age: 21
- Made two appearances (15 minutes)
- Completed seven tackles, including two dominant tackles
- Earned a 100% tackle completion rate
Shawn Windsor
Hometown: Stoney Creek, Ont.
Position: Fly-half / Fullback
Age: 32
- Made eight appearances (529 minutes)
- Completed 31 tackles
- Earned a 81.6% tackle completion rate
- Completed 16 kicks (634 kicking metres)
- Completed six offloads
“We are very happy to have Sam, Jack and Shawn back on board for 2020, as all three were a vital part of our first season and are great guys both on and off the field,” said Arrows Vice President and General Manager Mark Winokur. “This group of signings gets us close to our complete roster and means we were able to retain players we wanted and add some important new personnel.”
Malcolm rejoins the Arrows after completing his fifth season with the Manawatu Turbos in his native New Zealand’s provincial Mitre 10 Cup, while McRogers returns to the club as an Ontario University Athletics first team all-star following a standout post-secondary campaign with the McMaster Marauders.
The club’s seven returnees combined for 26 appearances in Toronto’s inaugural MLR season, helping to guide the club to a semi-final appearance with an 11-5-0 record.
Toronto has now signed 33 players ahead of the club’s sophomore Major League Rugby campaign.
