
Toronto Arrows Announce Lineup for Inaugural Clash with New England

WEYMOUTH, MA – Toronto Arrows Director of Rugby Chris Silverthorn has named his starting lineup for tomorrow’s away clash with the New England Free Jacks.
Seventeen Canadians have been included in Toronto’s 23-man lineup, with 11 featuring in the starting 15. Prop Marc-Antoine Ouellet is in contention to make his debut for the club off the bench.
Fourteen full internationals have been named to the Arrows’ matchday squad, carrying a combined cap total of 328 matches.
Squad Notes:
- de le Vega is ranked 1st in MLR in tackles (129), 5th in defensive ruck arrivals (66), 7th in breakdown steals (5), 8th in lineout takes (37), 10th in attacking ruck arrivals (156), 10th in lineout steals (3)
- Diana is ranked 1st in MLR in carries (133), 3rd in tackle breaks (36), 5th in carry metres (704), 6th in offloads (10)
- Rumball is ranked 1st in MLR in breakdown steals (18), 1st in defensive ruck arrivals (89), 4th in tackles (117), 5th in attacking ruck arrivals (178), 9th in carries (87)
- Adams is ranked 2nd in MLR in points scored (77), 4th in kicks (56)
- LeSage is ranked 3rd in MLR in offloads (12), 7th in linebreaks (10)
- Mieres is ranked 3rd in MLR in offloads (12)
- Montero is ranked 5th in MLR in tries scored (7), 7th in linebreaks (10)
- Tuculet is ranked 10th in MLR in offloads (9)
- Nine squad members are full Canadian internationals: Ciulini (8 caps), Ferguson (10 caps), Keith (16 caps), Kelly (1 cap), LeSage (16 caps), Parfrey (32 caps), Quattrin (5 caps), Rumball (35 caps), Sheppard (11 caps)
- Three squad members are full Argentinian internationals: de la Vega (12 caps), Montero (27 caps), Tuculet (56 caps)
- Two squad members are full Uruguayan internationals: Diana (27 caps), Mieres (72 caps)
Tomorrow’s match marks the first league meeting between Toronto and New England.
The Free Jacks (4-5; 21 points) are coming off a 29-19 home loss to New York, while the Arrows (4-5; 22 points) are rested following their bye week.
Saturday’s game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET. The intra-conference tilt will stream on TSN.ca and the TSN App for Canadian audiences, and will be available on The Rugby Network for American and international audiences. Full broadcast details can be found here.
