A Letter to Our Fans

Dear fans of the Toronto Arrows Rugby Football Club,

With the 2023 Major League Rugby season now complete, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all of you, our devoted fans. Your unwavering support and dedication have been the lifeblood of our club, and we are truly grateful for your continued presence, even during what has been a challenging season.

This campaign has been marked by valuable learning experiences and important milestones. We have seen the emergence of several promising young Canadian talents who have earned their first Senior Team caps, a testament to our commitment to developing homegrown players and fostering a strong rugby culture within our nation. Eighteen Canadians received their Arrow Number in 2023, with 11 of our Canuck debutants under the age of 25. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to nurturing their potential even further in the years to come.

Additionally, we had the honour of seeing 12 of our players selected to Canada’s senior men’s team’s long list ahead of the summer test window; nine are slated to represent Canada during the national team’s tour to Fiji and Tonga, with five in line to earn their first international caps. Their inclusion is a nod to the quality of athletes within our ranks and the impact they stand to make on the international stage. We celebrate their accomplishments and the recognition they have brought to our club, their grassroots and school clubs, and their hometowns.

Our Academy’s recent triumph in the Coast to Coast Cup stands as a shining example of the dedication and hard work put forth by our up-and-coming players, our coaching staff, and our support staff as our Academy program continues its growth. The Young Arrows’ success reflects the strength of our development system, and we look forward to supporting even more promising talent in the years to come.

While we acknowledge that this past season did not meet our expectations in terms of on-field performance, we are committed to learning from our mistakes and making the necessary improvements. Challenges are an inherent part of any sporting journey, and we will use them as stepping stones towards a brighter future. We are fully aware of the areas that require attention and have already started the thorough process of addressing them as we strive for excellence.

Looking ahead, we are filled with optimism and determination for what lies beyond. The 2024 season presents us with new opportunities and a chance for redemption. We will approach the upcoming campaign with renewed focus, dedication, and a commitment to raising the bar both on and off the field. With your continued support, we will work tirelessly to bring success and pride to Canada’s only professional rugby team.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your loyalty and passion have always been the driving force behind our club, and we are honoured to have such an incredible fan base. Together, we will overcome the challenges, learn from our setbacks, and create a bright future for our club.
