Toronto Arrows and Coolbet Extend Partnership Through 2022 MLR Season
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows Rugby Football Club is pleased to announce an agreement with Coolbet, widely known as the most transparent gaming company in the industry, to extend their official partnership through the 2022 Major League Rugby season.
This renewed agreement will see Coolbet become the Arrows’ title partner, as well as retain its designation as the team’s official online gaming partner.
The Coolbet brand will appear prominently on the front of the club’s home, away, and training kit worn throughout the upcoming MLR season. Coolbet will also continue to assist the Arrows in broadening their fan experience offerings throughout the year, both in-stadium and through digital channels in conjunction with the club’s digital marketing team.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Coolbet for the 2022 season,” said Rahul Srinivasan, Toronto Arrows Director of Partnerships. “Coolbet is a leader in the rapidly evolving betting and gaming market, and we’re excited to work together to deliver a best-in-class experience for fans that will build on the success and growth of Major League Rugby in North America.”
“We pride ourselves on being a leader in embracing new technology and delivering engaging experiences for our fans, and we can’t wait for the season to kick off in February with Coolbet as our title partner.”
Coolbet was established in 2016 and launched in Canada in the fall of 2019. Coolbet’s primary goal is to make gaming fun and transparent, with a mandate to be a present community partner while supporting local teams and athletes.
The gaming leader is a multi-time international award winner, earning the International Gaming Awards’ Mobile Sports Product of the Year (2019, 2020, 2021), Innovator of the Year (2021), and Start-Up of the Year (2017) prizes.
“The Toronto Arrows are a perfect fit for us,” said Kris Abbott, Head of North America for Coolbet. “When you see the passion and professionalism involved in this organization, from ownership on down, there’s no choice but to be excited about the Arrows now and for years to come. Not only are Arrows’ games a local entertainment destination, but the organization is a training ground for our country’s very best athletes as they strive to represent Canada on the international stage.”
The Arrows – Canada’s first and only professional rugby union team – will begin their fourth campaign in North America’s top-flight professional rugby league with a road match against the Seattle Seawolves on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.
The following week, the club will take on reigning MLR champions Los Angeles in a home-designated fixture played at Starlight Stadium in Langford, British Columbia. This cross-conference clash, slated for Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, will mark the first time a regular season MLR match has been played in a Canadian province outside of Ontario.
The Arrows will host 2021 MLR Championship finalists Rugby ATL for the team’s true home opener on Saturday, Apr. 2, 2022, representing the club’s first regular season game in Toronto in 1,035 days.
The team will play its seven 2022 Toronto-based home matches at the 4,000+-seat York Lions Stadium.
