(WHITBY, ON) – Rugby Ontario, in partnership with the Toronto Arrows, is excited to announce the launch of our 2021-22 Academy programs. The Ontario Blues Junior Arrows Academy will host combines for under-15 to under-18 athletes throughout September as part of the identification and selection process. The academy program will run from October 2021 – April 2022 and operate regionally across Ontario, with designated centres in Guelph, Whitby/Toronto, and Ottawa.
Each centre will provide technical/tactical training for all players as well as strength and conditioning programming. Access to key resources such as athletic therapy, nutritional support, mental performance coaching, and video review/analysis will also be provided to ensure the holistic development of all players. In addition, centralized training sessions and competitions will be scheduled throughout the seven-month program.
The non-residential Ontario Blues Junior Arrows Academy is focused on building a nationally and internationally-renowned talent identification and development program that fuels the success of aspiring young men in their pursuit of international rugby.
To achieve this, Academy staff will create a supportive and challenging environment that fosters player and coach development allowing individuals to develop into elite level performers. The foundation of this development will be a culture of work ethic, accountability, and resilience.
