Club Acknowledges Support for Community Partners Muddy York RFC
The Toronto Arrows would like to acknowledge two of our proud supporters, Macquarie executive Simon Wright and Shoreline Chairman Guy Reynolds AO, for their support of the development of inclusive, LGBTQ+ rugby through their recent donation of $5,000 to our community partners Muddy York RFC.
Inclusive clubs like Muddy York RFC are community leaders in our home city of Toronto and beyond, working to eliminate anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment at the grassroots level and providing opportunities for members of the LGBTQ+ community to compete in sports through tolerant and accepting teams.
As an inclusive club, Muddy York works to eradicate a culture of poisonous ‘locker room talk’, and focuses as much on camaraderie and team-building as they do on skill development. They foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment for its members, promoting equality and diversity, the removal of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and identification, and good health through physical activity.
Simon and Guy have a long tradition of supporting Canadian rugby, demonstrated through their past funding of the Toronto-based nonprofit Rugby Alliance, whose programming has impacted more than 5,000 junior rugby players in the city and surrounding areas.
We thank Simon and Guy for their positive and meaningful contributions to our sport, and their ongoing acts that are in keeping with the values of our club.
