Arrows Academy to Face Queen’s University Belfast in Toronto
TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows Senior Academy will welcome Queen’s University Belfast to Toronto this Saturday, with the Young Arrows set to face the Northern Irish touring side at Lamport Stadium.
Fresh off a pair of hard-fought matches against the New England Independents and Scottish touring side Melrose, the Arrows Academy’s summer season will draw to a close with a tilt against the reigning All-Ireland League Division 2A winners.
The visitors from Belfast are coming off a successful domestic season, which also saw the AIL D2A champions also claim an Ulster Senior Cup. With stops planned across both Ontario and Quebec, this is the first time in over 40 years that Queen’s University Belfast has undertaken an extensive Canadian tour; the club has also scheduled fixtures with the Brantford Harlequins, Niagara Rugby Union, Balmy Beach, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, and Quebec.
Saturday’s match, which will kick off at 2 p.m. ET, will be open to spectators and will be free of charge to attend, though fans must claim their free tickets at this link. A ticket receipt will be required for entry into the stadium.
A curtain-raiser will feature Queen’s University Belfast’s 2nd XV and Balmy Beach, with kickoff set for 12:15 p.m. ET.
Food and beverages will be available for fans to purchase, though no alcohol is permitted at the event. Spectators will also have in-and-out privileges through Lamport Stadium’s east gate throughout the day.
