1-800-GOT-JUNK? Named Presenting Partner of Toronto Arrows Academy
For Immediate Release
TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows Rugby Football Club is pleased to announce that 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has been named the presenting partner of the Toronto Arrows Academy.
1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the Canadian leader in residential and commercial junk removal, joins the club on two-year partnership agreement. As a presenting partner of the Toronto Arrows Academy, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? will directly support the Arrows’ commitment to developing domestic, Canadian talent that is ready for the rigours of competing in North America’s top professional league.
“We are thrilled to welcome 1-800-GOT JUNK? as the presenting partner of the Toronto Arrows Academy,” said Rahul Srinivasan, Toronto Arrows Director of Partnerships. “We look forward to partnering with a leading organization that prioritizes support for the growth of elite rugby across Ontario.”
Beyond providing on-field support, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is also committed to supporting rugby athletes off the pitch; the company is a preferred employer for post-secondary, amateur and professional rugby players looking for opportunities that fit their requirements as high-performance athletes.
“1-800-GOT-JUNK? is excited to support the development of players through the Toronto Arrows Academy,” said Darcy Longpre, Franchise Partner, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. “We are proud to continue to expand and support players and help them achieve their goals through our Rugby-Friendly Employment Program. We are excited to welcome players from all levels of play who wish to play rugby and work for a company that values commitment and teamwork inside and outside of the workplace. We know rugby players exemplify these characteristics and we work diligently to create schedules that fit a person’s rugby, family and work commitments. Arrows Up!”
As Ontario’s lockdown restrictions gradually ease, Academy athletes have begun returning to regular training sessions held across three centres: Guelph (West), Whitby (Central), and Kingston (East). Program staff have opted to bring in a wider player training group for the 2021 season, providing the Academy with additional time to evaluate and develop more MLR-calibre athletes despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
Additional Academy program details, including a projected fixture list, will be announced in the spring.
The Arrows senior team will begin its third campaign in North America’s top-flight professional rugby league with a road match against Rugby ATL on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2021.
