FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows will send a developmental ‘A’ side to face USA Rugby’s Eastern Collegiate All-Americans in a cross-border clash on Saturday.
The match will be played at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY, with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
The Arrows A squad will be comprised of 2019 roster players, as well as additional players from across Ontario that have been identified for further evaluation.
“We are very happy with the level of interest in this first step towards identifying academy talent,” said Arrows Vice President and General Manager Mark Winokur. “With the rush to get our MLR franchise up-and-running last winter, this very important piece of our club player pathway was not fully developed, but we are well into it now and the trainings and talent have exceeded our initial expectations. This match against the Collegiate All-Americans is a great opportunity for some our contracted players who may not have had a ton of minutes late in the season to play in a competitive match, and it will also give us a chance to get a good look at some additional players in our region.”
The Arrows A squad will be announced ahead of Saturday’s match.
